Today, the Government has decided to approve the draft Decree of the President of Ukraine on the Human Development Strategy.

The Human Development Strategy is a comprehensive document developed with the participation of central executive bodies, scientific institutions, social partners and the public, which sets out the results of the analysis of the human development situation, identifies problems, sets the aim, strategic goals, main tasks to ensure their achievement as well as performance indicators.

The strategy takes into account the following blocks of issues:

• medical and demographic situation;
• healthcare;
• education and science;
• culture;
• physical culture and sports;
• standard of living, employment and social support of the population;
• ensuring equality between men and women.

The implementation of the Strategy will be ensured through the implementation of tasks and measures approved by the relevant plan, monitoring and achievement of performance indicators.

Background

The draft Human Development Strategy was developed pursuant to the Decree of the President of Ukraine of September 14, 2020 № 392 “On the Decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of September 14, 2020 “On the National Security Strategy of Ukraine”.
