Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said at a meeting with leaders of consolidated communities of Zhytomyr region which took place in the frames of a working visit of the Head of Government to the region.
"We put forward an idea to provide the CC status to regional centers. They will become more motivated for amalgamation", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The PM reminded that the decentralization reform was aimed to unite the whole of Ukraine through the establishment of strong capable communities, whose leadership is firstly accountable to the residents, and secondly, is capable to fulfill the objectives that are of concern for the people, that they demand. We are talking about responsibility and financial resources. Currently, those components are available where the communities held elections and live following new governance standards.
"The target is to consolidate these opportunities in the Constitution. And this is the responsibility of the central government, which must be resolved as soon as possible. And also, to provide new opportunities to territories that have no access to the new quality of life", said Volodymyr Groysman.
Moreover, the PM drew attention to the decision of the Government to redistribute funds from the State Regional Development Fund in favor of small town development projects.
