Government plans to allocate UAH 56 billion for road works next year, says Prime Minister

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine includes a sum worth UAH 56 billion for carrying out road works in the draft state budget for 2019. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated during the Government session.

"Next year’s budget for road construction will amount to UAH 56 billion. We allocate a sum worth UAH 17 billion to local roads. I urge officials to report to citizens for each hryvnias spent", the Head of Government said.

 Background

In 2018, the overall volume of allocated funds for road works made up UAH 47 billion UAH, of which a sum worth UAH 11.5 billion was directed to local and municipal roads.
