On September 11, 2018, the second meeting of the Ukrainian-Norwegian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Entrepreneurship and Economy Cooperation took place in Kyiv under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk and the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Kingdom of Norway Torbjørn Røe Isaksen.
In the opening speech, the Chairman of the Ukrainian part Ihor Nasalyk expressed gratitude to the Norwegian side for supporting Ukraine at the time of its historical trials, in particular, the fact that Norway hasn’t recognized the Russian presidential elections in Crimea of 2018, and support for the decision of the Council of the EU to extend sanctions against Russia-occupied by Crimea.
During the meeting a number of the most urgent issues for both parties were considered, in particular cooperation in energy, energy efficiency, trade in seafood, infrastructure.
Moreover, the participants of the meeting decided to create a working group on nuclear safety issues.
On the results of the meeting, "Joint statement - priorities on the results of the second meeting of the Ukrainian-Norwegian Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in Trade, Entrepreneurship and the Economy" was signed. The parties agreed to hold the next meeting in Norway in 2019.
