The Government supported the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture to train unemployed Kyiv residents in IT specialties. The training will be funded by the Compulsory State Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine in case of unemployment.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution "On the implementation in Kyiv of an experiment on vocational training of registered unemployed for the needs of employers in the field of information technology", according to which the unemployed will be able to study IT specialties for free in private IT schools.
From now on, the Fund's resources provided for retraining of the unemployed can be used not only by educational institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, but also by informal educational institutions - IT Academies, IT training courses and others that train qualified IT specialists but do not have licenses, certificates and accreditation.
The document was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture and the State Employment Center at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The proposed tool will allow meeting part of the needs of Ukrainian IT companies in qualified specialists. And Ukrainians who have lost their jobs will study prestigious IT specialties.
Specially created commissions will select educational institutions and participants from among the registered unemployed to participate in the experiment.
