The Government has approved amendments to the Classification and Uniform Requirements for the Construction and Technical Condition of Wheeled Vehicles in Operation. These changes introduce new categories of wheeled vehicles, in particular, L1e - L7e (motorcycles) and the division into classes of category M2 and M3 (light vehicles and buses).
This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii.
"Today, a significant number of vehicles have appeared in the European Union, which belong to new categories and subcategories, and which are not present in the domestic legislation, and therefore cannot be imported into Ukraine and used on public roads. This is especially true of category L, among which a significant number have an electric motor and increased mobility, which is especially important for large cities. The decision adopted by the Government today apart from corresponding to the latest changes to the 1958 Geneva Agreement and EU legislation also actualizes the Ukrainian legal framework, bringing us closer to modern European standards," said Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii.
According to him, the approved changes will also resolve the issue of documents confirming the classification of a wheeled vehicle, in order to avoid differences in their classification.
