
Government provided financial assistance to Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration aimed to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation as a result of the floods in June of 2020
On November 4, the Government decided to allocate an additional UAH 262.8 million from the Reserve Fund of the State Budget to Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration to continue emergency recovery work at facilities damaged by the large-scale flooding that occurred in June 2020 in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The funds will be transferred to rehabilitate infrastructure, including highways, bridges, social and water management facilities.
"For the Government and the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, it is extremely important to provide financial assistance to the western regions to overcome the effects of the severe flood in June," said Svitlana Panaiotidi, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
It should be noted that on July 2, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated UAH 480 million to the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration to carry out priority measures to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation caused by the floods in June 2020.
Background
During June 12-24, 2020, the territory of Ivano-Frankivsk region had been suffering significant precipitations, as a result of which 5 inhabitants of the region died, the flooding affected 263 settlements, 13117 houses, 15 medical and obstetric points, 2 hospitals, 18101 small gardens, 6193 basements, 7411 agricultural land plots. 879 km of roads, 342 bridges, 80 km of shore fortifications were destroyed and damaged. 21 houses were also destroyed. Residents of 32 settlements were cut off from road traffic. A total of 1,916 communal property objects were damaged and destroyed in the region.
According to the expert conclusion of the SES dated 30.06.2020 № 4-2020, the emergency situation that occurred in Ivano-Frankivsk region was classified as a natural emergency of the regional level.
