The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 3 billion 132 million to fight coronavirus in Ukraine.

The decision was made at a Government session on May 6.

“The resolution provides for the allocation of UAH 3,132,500 for the fight against coronavirus in Ukraine. The document is currently being approved by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture. We have taken into account all the remarks, "commented the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov.

According to the Minister, the funding will be transferred to the following directions:

• providing personal protective equipment for healthcare facilities and emergency medical care departments of the first wave engaged in work with patients with COVID-19;

• purchase of goods (works, services) necessary to ensure preparedness and response to COVID-19 outbreaks (in particular, it concerns the costs of laboratory centers of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Mechnikov Anti-Plague Research Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine);

• salaries of medical and other personnel of laboratory centers of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for March - June 2020, involved in the implementation of measures aimed at ensuring preparedness and response to outbreaks of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
