The Government of Ukraine has approved and expresses readiness to launch a large-scale program for the development of territorial roads network, including with the use of technologies of cement concrete road covering manufactured in Ukraine, starting the next construction season. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced during a Government sitting.

It should be noted that such a program was announced by the Head of Government this week, while on visit to Zhytomyr region, where the section of M-06 route is built directly with applying the T-concrete technology.

"From 2017, we have begun to rehabilitate roads infrastructure between regional centers in order to connect all regional centers. We increase funding from year to year. But there is an issue of roads between district centers - these are roads of territorial importance. For decades, those roads hadn’t been subjected to any repair activities. Year after year they underwent some pothole repairs, but it does not help anymore. We have approved a decision to draft a recovery program for this particular road network and today we endorse the decision. We engage in connecting of regional centers with high-quality roads and we will connect district centers with high-quality roads as well", said Volodymyr Groysman. "Starting the next construction season - we will continue to build regional centers and embark on the lower level – construction of district roads. This is a systematic approach."

The Strategy of the restoration of territorial motorways was presented by the head of the State Agency of Motor Roads of Ukraine Sławomir Nowak. He stressed that the process of upgrading territorial roads is a large impetus for the economy. And this effect is multiplied by the fact that road covering components are manufactured in Ukraine. And this means additional workplaces and additional opportunities for industry development.

"I want it to be tangible for people that the work is underway at the local level as well", said Volodymyr Groysman.
