The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Strategy for the renewal of the Ukrainian Customs Service and appointed Maxym Nefiodov, the winner of the relevant competition, the Head of the State Customs Service. Commenting on this decision, the Head of Government Volodymyr Groysman stressed that it was time to purge away the system, to break all the corruption schemes and chains and prevent any influence on all processes.
The Prime Minister reminded that this was not the first attempt to reload the customs service. Moreover, an open and transparent competition for the position of a head of the Customs Service was blocked in the courts for 67 days. But this chance for introducing the reform should be used with maximum efficiency, assures Volodymyr Groysman.
"Today the competition has been unblocked, completed, the winner announced. Maxym Nefiodov, today you will get a ticket for the war with shadow merchants. And, as I once supported the ProZorro, deregulation, I will prolong to support your work at the Customs Service", said Volodymyr Groysman. "The result is critical: white business should work fast, while all schemes should be eliminated at the system level. And I assert we can do it together."
In line with the presented Strategy, in the near future, the Customs Service should become transparent, maximally automated agency intertwined with the one-stop-shop technologies and risk management principles.
