The Government has expanded the list of categories for which Ukrainians can submit claims to the International Register of Damage for Ukraine through Diia. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on 7 March.
The Head of Government noted that from now on, it would be possible to register an application not only for ‘Damaged or destroyed housing’ or ‘Death of a close family member’, but also for 6 new categories. These are, in particular, ‘Damage or destruction of non-residential real estate’, ‘Loss of access and control over real estate in the temporarily occupied territories’, ‘Serious bodily injury’, ‘Forced labour’, etc.
"Ukrainians will have an opportunity to file the relevant applications, and we will work to ensure that russia pays for its crimes," said Denys Shmyhal. He also stressed that the Government continued to work on the creation of an International Compensation Mechanism.
