The Government distributed an additional UAH 3.3 billion for significant projects in the healthcare sector. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 7 March.
According to the Head of Government, these resources will be earmarked for the restoration of the National Children's Specialised Hospital ‘Okhmatdyt’, for the financing of the National Cancer Institute, the Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Centre for Endocrine Surgery, Transplantation of Endocrine Organs and Tissues, as well as for paediatric cardiology in the capital. In addition, the funds will be used to develop university medicine and other important projects.
Denys Shmyhal emphasised that the healthcare sector was one of the priority areas of recovery.
"Over the past 3 years, we have fully or partially restored almost 1,000 medical institutions," the Prime Minister stressed.
