Government launches annual Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Prize for energy sector professionals
The Government has launched an annual Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Prize for energy sector professionals. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko on the Day of Power Engineers, who expressed her gratitude to industry professionals for their dedicated work in wartime conditions.
"After every terrible attack, energy workers — ordinary people of extraordinary dedication — work around the clock at every facility. Today, on the Day of Power Engineers, all of Ukraine sends its gratitude to you.
You restore heat, light, communications, and the ability to work to the people. Most importantly, you restore faith that we will prevail.
The priority for our Government is light in Ukrainian homes and the operation of our enterprises.
I ask everyone to remember and appreciate that we have light because Ukrainian energy workers have provided it with their hands and labour.
We are launching an annual Cabinet of Ministers Award for energy industry workers. It is important for us to recognise your work at the highest level.
Thank you for your dedication, courage and professionalism," emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Prime Minister noted that for the fourth year in a row, russia has been trying to plunge Ukrainians into darkness. Almost every day, the enemy launches dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones at energy facilities, trying to destroy power generation, transmission and distribution systems, control rooms and entire facilities.
Since September this year alone, Ukraine's energy system has suffered around 2,000 massive mixed missile-and-drone attacks, almost a quarter of which were aimed at targeting energy infrastructure.
