Government mobilizes additional resources to restore damaged energy facilities

Department of Information and Public Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, posted 09 October 2026 16:46

The enemy is attacking energy infrastructure, including facilities that supply power to Kyiv and the central regions, almost nonstop. Several sites have been severely damaged or destroyed.

"We analyze every day how our air defenses performed, what lessons to draw and what can be improved quickly. The priority is to repair the damage as fast as possible. Additional resources have been deployed," Sergii Koretskyi stressed.

The Prime Minister thanked all the energy workers and rescuers on the ground. Repairs continue around the clock, sometimes even during air raid alerts. The enemy keeps launching jet-powered Shahed drones to prevent quick repairs.

"At today's regular video conference, the President was given a detailed report on the situation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Energy, with active support from the President's Office team, are in constant contact with partners to secure the assistance needed right now so that recovery is as fast as possible," the Head of Government said.

On Kyiv specifically: lessons must be learned from the latest events, above all regarding life-support systems, arrangements for backup transport, and so on. The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons, the Ministry of Energy and the State Emergency Service must address these issues with local authorities without delay.

"My sincere thanks to all energy workers and specialists working in extremely difficult conditions despite constant risks and threats," Sergii Koretskyi concluded.
