  • Government allocates UAH 10.7 billion for culture and media in State Budget for 2024

    Today, on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2024, and the document will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Compared to the 2023 budget, spending on culture and media has been increased by UAH 2.3 billion.

    "Culture and information policy are effective tools in hybrid warfare and reliable rear support. The current needs of the industry have been considered, taken into account and reflected in the new budget. I am grateful to the Ministry of Finance for its support. I hope that the MPs will also support our development vector. It is really important for everyone who shares the position on the importance of cultural and information resistance. We will continue to work for victory," said Rostyslav Karandieiev, Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

    A total of UAH 10.7 billion was allocated for culture and media, including

    - UAH 3.4 billion for the functioning and development of public media, ensuring the information security of the state;

    - to ensure the development of Ukrainian culture by supporting theater and concert organizations - UAH 2.1 billion;

    - financial support for initiatives in the field of culture and creative industries, promotion of lifelong reading - UAH 554 million;

    - production and distribution of patriotic films and TV series - UAH 511 million (Ukrainian State Film Agency).

    For the first time, the State Budget 2024 includes expenditures on certificates for the implementation of projects to support national minorities and indigenous peoples.
