More than UAH 6 billion of budget funds are allocated to support the agricultural sector this year. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 4 April.

He noted that agricultural exports remained the basis for trade and accounted for more than 50% of all Ukraine's exports abroad.

"Last year, exports of Ukrainian goods increased by 13%. In March this year, the positive dynamics of export growth continued - plus 4.5% compared to March last year," the Prime Minister stressed.

Denys Shmyhal underlined that in times of global trade instability, the Government would increase support for domestic producers and exporters using appropriate mechanisms.

In particular, the Made in Ukraine program provides UAH 500 million in compensation for the purchase of Ukrainian agricultural machinery. In addition, the state will compensate farmers for up to 25% of the cost of this equipment produced in Ukraine.
