Government allocates UAH 224.2 million to ensure stable 2025–2026 heating season in Sumy region
Today the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate UAH 224.195 million from the state budget reserve fund to the Sumy Regional State Administration to ensure proper passage of the 2025/2026 heating season. The funds will be used to purchase modular boiler houses for Sumy region, where more than 62,000 subscribers (covering 156,200 residents) are currently without central heating.
The critical situation in the region has arisen due to constant russian shelling. Centralised heating systems in these towns risk total destruction and shutdown. Installing new modular boiler houses will stabilise heat supply and reduce the likelihood of man-made emergencies.
“Providing Ukrainians with uninterrupted heating is a matter of national resilience. We must guarantee stable operation of the energy system even under martial law. This decision enables the Government to respond swiftly to challenges, strengthens energy security, and creates the conditions for a sustainable heating season,” said Vitaliy Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The purchase and installation of modular boiler houses will ensure a stable heating season in Sumy region, prevent disruptions in heat supply, and guarantee uninterrupted operation of hospitals, schools, and residential buildings throughout the winter.
