Government adopts key decisions to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience: Denys Shmyhal
The Government has adopted a series of significant decisions aimed at strengthening Ukraine, particularly to ensure the country’s energy resilience. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Cabinet meeting on 4 June.
“In coordination with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, we will allocate part of a USD 200 million grant to reimburse Ukrenergo for funds spent on protecting electrical substations,” he noted.
Denys Shmyhal also emphasised that, with the support of partners, Ukraine is advancing its domestic gas production. Specifically, Ukrgasvydobuvannya will receive a EUR 36.4 million loan from the EBRD to purchase new mobile drilling rigs. “We are doing everything to ensure we are prepared for the upcoming heating season and can provide people with light and heat this winter,” the Prime Minister stated.
