The Government has adopted the decision necessary for Ukraine to obtain a “roaming visa-free regime” with the European Union. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet on 11 March.
“This will strengthen the connection of Ukrainians abroad with their homeland, with their families and friends. This will contribute to the unity and consolidation of the Ukrainian people,” the Head of Government stressed.
Denys Shmyhal noted that within the framework of sectoral integration, the so-called “visa-free regimes” with the EU were key: trade, transport, energy, customs, and digital. Work is underway to obtain an “industrial visa-free regime”.
According to him, Ukraine confirms its choice every day and seeks to protect and guarantee a secure future for the common European home.
“We have moved as quickly as possible from applying for EU membership to the opening of pre-accession negotiations. We will continue to move as actively as possible,” the Prime Minister said, thanking the European Commission for supporting Ukraine’s access to the EU single market, which would become part of security solutions in the near future.
