Prime Minister: 1,500 IDP families received compensation through housing certificates
1,500 IDP families have received compensation for their lost housing through housing certificates under the eVidnovlennia programme. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet on 11 March.
“Our goal is to help IDPs settle in new communities and meet all their basic needs. The first priority is housing for our people,” said Denys Shmyhal, adding that Ukraine had a number of government programmes to support internally displaced persons.
In particular, the eOselia programme has also been launched with the possibility of purchasing housing through the eVidnovlennia certificate, and the first Ukrainians have already become owners of real estate under this mechanism.
In addition, the Government provides rent subsidies for IDPs. IDPs also receive subsistence payments. According to the Prime Minister, about 1.2 million people are receiving these payments, and the Government has transferred more than UAH 5.3 billion to them since the beginning of the year.
