Government has simplified the process for confirming eligibility for customs benefits for defense industry enterprises
More than 900 state-owned and private companies and over 300,000 people supply the Armed Forces with the necessary weapons, equipment, and technologies. The Government continues to reinforce the defense industry and streamline procedures for Ukrainian arms manufacturers.
“Following discussions with parliamentary factions, the Government has facilitated the confirmation of eligibility for customs benefits for defense industry enterprises that import components for the production of defense-related goods, namely materials, assemblies, units, equipment, and components,” said Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
From now on, it is no longer necessary to submit copies of contracts, technical specifications, and other documents to customs in advance. The required information will be indicated in the customs declaration, and documents will be provided upon request by customs authorities. If certain documents contain classified information, they may be submitted in compliance with confidentiality protocols until the customs declaration is filed.
The simplified rules also apply to co-contractors and subcontractors of government contracts in the field of defense procurement.
“Reducing customs clearance time allows manufacturers to receive components faster and ramp up production of weapons and equipment for the Defense Forces,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
