Government simplifies confirmation of work history for pension purposes when a work record book is missing

The Government has adopted a decision that will help people confirm their work history for pension purposes if they do not have a work record book, or if it lacks the relevant entries. Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi announced this.

This is especially important for those who lost their documents because of hostilities or occupation.

"First of all, work history will be confirmed using data from state electronic registers. If there is no such data, the work record book and other documents will be taken into account, while the list of accepted documents has been expanded," the Head of Government said.

If a person has no documents, or they have not been preserved, their work history can be confirmed by statements from at least two witnesses who worked with them. The Pension Fund will help locate such people.

"A separate procedure for counting years of service has been put in place for those who once worked at companies in temporarily occupied territories or areas of active hostilities, and for those whose documents were destroyed in the war. The Government's aim is to ensure that people affected by the war do not lose their right to a pension because they lack documents," Sergii Koretskyi stressed.
