The Government has decided to allocate UAH 540 million in subventions to the regions to modernize vocational education institutions. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 2.

“We are talking about modernizing laboratories of vocational and professional higher education institutions, as well as ensuring energy efficiency and safety of these educational spaces,” he said.

Denys Shmyhal emphasized that the funds would be provided for more than 100 educational institutions that train engineers, turners, builders, technologists, machine operators and other specialists the lack of whom makes reconstruction impossible.

According to the Prime Minister, today's decision is aimed at further investment in education and strengthening the capacity to rebuild with qualified personnel.

"The restoration of Ukraine will be the largest such project in Europe in the last 70 years. And we are preparing for its implementation today. We are building strategic partnerships. We are creating a recovery architecture. We are investing in human capital," said Denys Shmyhal.

He also emphasized that the Government was already implementing a rapid recovery by focusing resources on housing, energy, supporting Ukrainian producers through a new economic policy, modernizing critical infrastructure and investing in human capital development.
