Government extends additional payments for healthcare workers in combat areas: Yulia Svyrydenko

In the second half of 2026, healthcare facilities providing specialised medical care in areas of active hostilities will continue to receive additional monthly funding to support their payrolls. The programme had been due to end on 30 June, but the Government has extended it until the end of 2026, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced.

The Prime Minister stressed that the state currently uses several mechanisms to support healthcare facilities and medical professionals working in frontline communities and combat areas. Primary healthcare providers receive 20% higher funding for each patient declaration, while funding for emergency medical services has also been increased.

“The work of healthcare professionals in communities near the frontline is critically important. Our task is to ensure that they have everything they need to do their jobs and to create the conditions for them to continue providing high-quality medical care to people,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.
