Government announces an open competition for the post of head of the State Customs Service and approves a medium-term plan for customs reform
The Government has announced an open competition for the position of head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine and approved a medium-term plan for customs reform. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on August 4.
“Today, at a Government session, we launched an open competition for the position of head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine. This is an important step in the reboot of the customs, which should become an effective and transparent body operating according to European standards,” the Head of Government emphasized.
The competition commission includes representatives of Ukrainian businesses and international experts in anti-corruption and customs directions.
From Ukraine:
- Andriy Yerashov — Head of the Analytical Center of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP);
- Dmytro Oliynyk — President of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine;
- Oleh Tymkiv — Business Development Director, AF Moore Stephens, LLC.
From international partners:
- Arunas Adomenas — Customs Attache at Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU, expert on customs policy and international cooperation;
- David Bernstein — expert in governance and institutional reform;
- Kunio Mikuriya — international expert in customs policy, trade facilitation, and organizational leadership.
The Government also approved a medium-term action plan for the customs reform - one of the key areas of the National Revenue Strategy until 2030.
“The reformed customs service should establish a level playing field for all economic actors and become a source of stable revenue for the state budget,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
