The Government has adopted a number of critical decisions as part of the country's recovery and with the view to complete the reconstruction projects in the Kyiv region. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during an extraordinary offsite meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 31 March.
According to him, the World Bank estimates a need for about USD 37.6 billion to rebuild Kyiv region.
"We had started this work from the first days of de-occupation. We have not stopped even today. In particular, to complete the reconstruction projects already launched in the Kyiv region, we adopt a protocol order to allocate an additional UAH 1.5 billion from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression," the Prime Minister stressed.
In addition, he said that the Government had improved the algorithm for receiving compensation for destroyed individual housing to rebuild it.
In addition, almost UAH 36 million has been allocated to the Kyiv RMA to complete the restoration of the Champion Stadium in Irpin and additional funding provided to complete the construction of eight apartment buildings.
The Government has disbursed UAH 5.2 billion to the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development and regional administrations to rebuild and operate roads in the frontline and near-frontline regions that are used by the Security and Defence Forces as a priority.
"We will proceed with our efforts to ensure that priority reconstruction projects in Kyiv and other regions are fully funded and that results are delivered to people as soon as possible," the Prime Minister stressed.
