The Government is working on recovery programs, creating conditions for life, work, and education. This was emphasized by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the Restoration of Kyiv Region Forum held on 31 March in Irpin.

He stressed that in the process of rebuilding Ukraine, priorities had been clearly defined and were being consistently implemented. The first of them is housing.

"We continue the eVidnovlennia compensation program. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians have already benefited from it, repaired their homes, or purchased new housing. The program is being improved - we have added compensation options for IDPs and the possibility to pay the first installment of the eOselia mortgage with a housing certificate," the Prime Minister said.

He added that an important area of focus was the construction of social housing for IDPs and veterans, and the state would create conditions for the mass launch of such projects in the regions. The Head of Government also said that about 70% of residential buildings damaged by the russians had already been restored in Kyiv region.

According to the Prime Minister, the second priority for recovery is the energy sector.

"We have launched a programme for the development of distributed generation. Instead of large power plants that are vulnerable to russian strikes, we have hundreds of small power plants. According to the Ministry of Energy, at the end of last year, distributed generation added 967 MW, and this year - another 109 MW to the power system capacity,” Denys Shmyhal emphasised and added that Ukrainian power engineers were working around the clock to restore damaged energy facilities.

Education and healthcare are also among the key areas of recovery.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have restored almost a thousand hospitals and outpatient clinics. In particular, over 95% of all damaged medical facilities have been rebuilt in the Kyiv region. Over the past two years, we have also renovated more than 800 schools," the Prime Minister said.

He also stressed that thanks to the public investment management reform and the work of the DREAM ecosystem, money for infrastructure reconstruction is spent as efficiently as possible.

Denys Shmyhal is convinced that Ukraine's recovery should involve both international partners and foreign investors, as well as communities, whose support and assistance in the reconstruction process is essential.
