During a working visit to the Kherson region, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko inspected the protection of key roads in the region, which, despite daily russian shelling, remain vital logistics routes for communities, the military, and emergency response services. “We are strengthening their protection against drone attacks,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

To this end, at an on-site meeting, the Government directed UAH 96 million from the State Budget’s reserve fund to be allocated for the installation of anti-drone fortifications in Kherson and along evacuation routes. This funding will allow for the protection of an additional 27 road sections with a total length of over 200 km at this stage.

As of now, anti-drone nets have been installed along roads with a total length of over 190 km, funded by the Kherson Regional State Administration in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense.

The Government has also approved a new mechanism for financing the construction of local roads. The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture have been tasked with preparing the necessary decisions to allocate an additional UAH 3.5 billion in subsidies for repairs. Among other things, this will allow for the completion of work on the Kherson–Mykolaiv evacuation route, which facilitates the movement of ambulances, military vehicles, and evacuation transport.

“We continue to support and protect key logistics routes in frontline areas. Reliable transportation links are a matter of public safety, the functioning of services, and national defense capabilities,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
