The Ukrainian Government and the Ukrainian Parliament have both the time and a chance to approve the necessary decisions, which will allow not just to change the decision-making system, but also to provide fresh impetus for the growth of the Ukrainian economy. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Head of Government took the floor after the announcement of the People's Front faction about the withdrawal from the coalition and the start of discussions on the formation of a new parliamentary coalition.
The Head of Government thanked all the parliamentarians who had been working for five years in the interests of the state, assumed responsibility for the country and adopted the vital decisions for the country. "The coalition faced adoption of complicated and rather unpopular decisions. Then the choice was as follows: either to adopt decisions that would provide stability that would change the broken old system, or abandon the responsibility and join the opposition. The decision was taken in a responsible manner", said Volodymyr Groysman. "And now the question arose - what is next? We must change the decision-making system. We must be fast, mobile and maximally efficient. It’s unaffordable to spend years on one law. The agenda, which we must determine for the long term, must be realistic, strong and capable of accelerating the processes taking place in the state."
The Head of Government stressed that the incumbent Parliament and the Government will work until the next parliamentary elections. That is why the issues of the cooperation agenda are gaining in importance. Among the issues are parliamentary immunity, the continuation of the decentralization reform, and the strengthening of the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU. "Decentralization means the powers of people. European integration is vital for Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens. European standards will improve people's lives. The roadmap for integration is on hand! Let's change the system (of decision-making), and in a week we will adopt the necessary laws, trigger the tremendous boost of the Ukrainian economy", said Volodymyr Groysman.
According to him, there is enough time to take the necessary steps, even in the pre-election period.
"We have a window of opportunities. We have to believe in it. And either we will realize these opportunities to strengthen Ukraine, or it will again become a stage of loss of opportunity. Let's change the country over these 5 months. We have necessary expertise", added the Prime Minister. "Ukraine is our home. And through the adoption of the necessary decisions, the glory of Ukraine will be heard around the world."
