Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Chernyshov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Ukraine Istvan Iidarto. The parties discussed issues of cross-border cooperation and economic strengthening of the regions, in particular, through the development of industrial parks.
"Zakarpattia is a powerful region bordering Hungary. Dozens of tourism projects are being implemented here, and social infrastructure is gradually improving. We are working on the economic strengthening of each region of Ukraine. In particular, the new regional policy provides for the determining of functional types of territories. In the future, this will allow financing initiatives aimed at the development of a particular area, taking into account its specifics. Therefore, in the territories of the Ukrainian Carpathians we will support the development of rural, mountain and ecological tourism," said Minister Oleksii Chernyshov.
During the meeting, the parties tackled issues related to decentralization reform, methods of household waste management and the results of the President's Great Construction Program. In particular, last year 5 kindergartens, 5 sports facilities and 4 schools were built or reconstructed in Zakarpattia region. Oleksii Chernyshov also stressed the importance of building the infrastructure of industrial parks, including in Zakarpattia, this will create new jobs and increase the investment attractiveness of the region.
"I am happy to have this meeting. I am convinced that the discussion of infrastructure development, in particular, in Zakarpattia - the region adjacent to Hungary - will open up new opportunities for cross-border cooperation between Hungary and Ukraine," said Istvan Iidarto.
It should be noted that projects on the development of tourist infrastructure of communities will be implemented in Zakarpattia.
