Today, Chairman of State Forest Resources Agency Ukraine Andriy Zablotskyi met with Hermann Intemann, Agricultural Attaché at the German Embassy in Ukraine.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of development of Ukrainian-German cooperation in the field of forestry.
Mr. Hermann Intemann stressed that the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany would continue to provide methodological support for improving forest management in Ukraine in case of systematic shifts in starting the National Forest Inventory.
Chairman of State Forest Resources Agency emphasized the priority tasks of the Government of Ukraine on systematic changes of the forestry sector, in particular, in the issue of overcoming disgraceful phenomenon of illegal logging and increasing the public's confidence in foresters.
"This year will be a year of change in Ukraine's forest industry. We have ambitious plans to adopt a number of bills and regulations that will spur development. National Forest Inventory is an overriding priority," Chairman of State Forest Resources Agency underscored.
