The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food hosted a meeting with a high-level delegation of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, led by Vice Minister Mr. Li Guo, who is in Ukraine on his first official visit from the newly established service.
From Ukraine, the meeting was attended by acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Olha Trofimtseva and Head of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa.
During the talks, Ukrainian and Chinese counterparts noted a high level of friendly cooperation.
"Ukraine is an important strategic partner in trade relations between Ukraine and China, including in the veterinary and phytosanitary sectors", said Vice Minister Li Guo.
The interlocutors discussed the current state of mutual trade in products of animal and vegetable origin and analyzed the state of development of bilateral draft documents, in particular, approval of a series of veterinary certificates.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the approval of an international veterinary certificate for the export of antelope from Ukraine to the PRC.
The parties also reiterated their readiness to increase mutual trade in animal and vegetable products and to expand their range.
