In our modern age, there are few countries that can boast of such Academy of Sciences and such gifted youth that we have in Ukraine, said Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at a ceremony of the opening of the final stage of the competition-review of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
This year the contest participants included 1200 students. "And now I know what 1200 real stars of Ukraine look like", stressed the Prime Minister. "I am proud of you, as I understand how much energies you put out, how much your mentors invest in your potential. It is important that you not only develop your solutions, but also open up new opportunities. It is important that each of you contribute to our country’s development. A country that needs new solutions, modern discoveries capable of changing the world in good sense. Few countries in the world can be proud of such Academy of Sciences and such quantity of gifted youth."
The Head of Government stressed that the challenge for the Government to make every child successful and build the country so that everyone desired to stay and work in it. "We have a beautiful country in the heart of Europe. It can take the lead in a number of areas. And we deserve to be the leader in terms of quality of life ", added Volodymyr Groysman.
This year, the Government allocates over UAH 8 billion to science development projects. In addition, at the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers, a Start-up Support Fund with an initial budget of UAH 50 million was set up. The Head of Government highlighted in his statement it is necessary not just to apply the resources, but to ensure that industry could benefit from scientific research to the uttermost. The more so, that Ukraine has the potential in many spheres - from agricultural production to space industry, the Prime Minister noted.
