Kyiv and Washington have a common promising future and are already forming in-depth agenda for relations. This statement was made by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in the course of the meeting with the National Security Advisor of the United States John Bolton, who visited Ukraine on the occasion of the Independence Day.
"I am glad to welcome you in Ukraine on such a special day for us. We thank the U.S. Government for your staunchest support of our independence and restoration of territorial integrity. We have a promising future together. We have something to talk about and we have a basis for further cooperation", Volodymyr Groysman stressed.
In turn, John Bolton emphasized that it was a great honor and privilege for him to be in Kyiv on the Independence Day.
"I look forward to our conversation. I’m interested in your views on the whole brand of issues and see how we can deepen relationship between US and Ukraine", Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Affairs stressed.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon many issues of both bilateral and international cooperation, first and foremost in the context of cooperation with international financial organizations, strengthening of sanctions pressure on the aggressor state and counteraction to the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project. Apart from that, the interlocutors placed a special emphasis on the increase in the trade balance of Ukraine. The trade turnover between Ukraine and the US over the last year grew by a third and amounted to $ 4.7 billion. The Head of Government also recalled that ahead - the implementation of joint production plans in the energy sector, in aircraft construction and in the manufacture of railway locomotives.
