Today, November 12, in the city of Nur-Sultan, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine represented by Minister Vladyslav Kryklii and the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by Deputy Minister Berik Kamaliyev signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in Innovative Technologies and Information Systems Permits for International Trucking.
The signing ceremony took place during the official visit of the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine to Kazakhstan.
"We are strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Just now together with my colleague - Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Berik Kamaliyev –we have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of exchange of permits for international road transportation. We want to significantly deepen cooperation for faster and unhindered movement of goods, we are planning to introduce digital permits for trucking as soon as possible. I am grateful to the Kazakh side for the readiness to cooperate," said Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii.
The Memorandum envisages joint activities that will allow for the following:
- simplify the procedures for exchanging permits for international road haulage;
- transfer paper permit forms into electronic format;
- share existing experience and information for mutual benefit.
The document enters into force on the date of its signing.
The transition to digital permits will contribute to the development of the transport industry in both countries, as well as have a positive impact on their economy and trade. Also, in order to increase the competitiveness of the TRACECA corridor, work is underway to introduce a single transit permit between the participating countries.
