Ukraine and Georgia simplify border crossing procedures, which make it possible for their citizens to travel between the two countries without a passport, only with an ID card. The relevant Agreement was signed by the Heads of Government Volodymyr Groysman and Mamuka Bakhtadze in Chisinau within the framework of the GUAM Summit.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Georgia are keen on further developing bilateral relations, promoting  the strengthening of interpersonal communication and simplifying the movement regime between Ukraine and Georgia", the Preamble to the Agreement reads.

Commenting on the signing of the documents, the Heads of Government noted that economic growth should be reflected in the welfare of citizens. And so, removing trade barriers, the barriers between people should be eradicated.

"The main thing for us is human relations", Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze stressed.

"Strengthening cooperation is not only economic decisions, but also human relations," Prime Minister  of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman added.

    Background

According to the Agreement, Georgian and Ukrainian travelers do not need a visa to visit each other for a 90-day stay. They will only need an electronic ID card.
