Ukraine appreciates the contribution of the United States to the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with Congressman Sander M. Levin. Over the last decades, Sander Levin has been an active lobbyist for Ukraine's interests, condemned the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, and advocated recognition it a genocide of Ukrainians. Today, November 24, he came to honor the memory of the dead and took part in mournful events.
"I am grateful for your position", said Volodymyr Groysman. "I know and appreciate your long-standing steadfast efforts to disseminate the truth about the Holodomor and recognize this crime as a genocide of the Ukrainian people."
The interlocutors noted that the truth about the Holodomor, as a criminal act of the totalitarian regime that is not a time-barred, should be spread throughout the world.
