The lung ventilators will be delivered as humanitarian aid from Hungary. The relevant memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Health and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid in Ukraine. For more than 25 years, the charity has been providing assistance both in our country and abroad to Ukrainians displaced from their homes. The transfer of the ventilators to Ukrainian hospitals was initiated by Yulia Hryshyna, a member of the Ukrainian parliamentary group for interparliamentary relations with Hungary.
A total of 100 lung ventilators will be delivered to Ukrainian hospitals as part of the cooperation. Most of the equipment will be distributed to hospitals in the frontline areas where the medical system faces the greatest challenges. Another part of the ventilators will be delivered to medical facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Kyiv and Odesa regions.
“Thanks to the support of international partners and governments of different countries, our healthcare system can survive today. I am grateful to the Hungarian Interchurch Aid for being ready to lend a shoulder of support and improve the material and technical base of our medical institutions. This is a powerful example of the international medical partnership we are actively building today. One hundred lung ventilators that will be delivered to our medical institutions will be a real boost for intensive care units, especially in the frontline regions where the medical system is currently facing the greatest challenges,” said Minister of Health Viktor Liashko during the signing of the memorandum.
According to the Minister of Health, the lung ventilators are distributed to medical institutions according to their role in the capable network. This approach allows the equipment to be distributed to those hospitals where it will be used most effectively.
