Ukraine and the EU deepen cybersecurity partnership: key takeaways from the fifth Cyber Dialogue in Brussels
Brussels has recently hosted the 5th Cyber Dialogue between Ukraine and the European Union. The meeting's core topics included expanding practical cybersecurity cooperation, aligning Ukrainian legislation with European standards, strengthening cyber defence, and countering shared cyber threats amid Russia's ongoing full-scale armed aggression.
During the event, Ukrainian and EU representatives reaffirmed their shared resolve to tackle evolving cyber threats and enhance collective cyber resilience.
Systematic Intelligence Exchange: Joint Work Between CERT-UA and CERT-EU
A major practical outcome of the Dialogue was the signing of an Administrative Arrangement between the Administration of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP) and the Cybersecurity Service for the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies (CERT-EU).
This document establishes a direct channel for sharing cyber incident intelligence between CERT-EU and the National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-UA), which operates under the SSSCIP. This move will significantly bolster both parties' capabilities to detect, prevent, and mitigate the impact of cyberattacks.
Separately, the participants highlighted the critical importance of expanding operational joint efforts with the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).
