The British association of manufacturers, Made in Britain, supports the Made in Ukraine programme, which aims to support Ukrainian producers. First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and Made in Britain representative George Middleton signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of manufacturing.
Made in Britain will share its experience and explore ways to expand cooperation between Ukrainian and British businesses. In particular, experts from MAP UK & International, a company specialising in international trade and global supply chain management, will be involved in this process.
"The UK has been actively supporting Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale war. This year, we signed a Free Trade Agreement, which provides for the elimination of duties and quotas in bilateral trade by 2029. We are now moving to a new level of cooperation. The agreement with Made in Britain will help Ukrainian goods to be better represented on the British market and improve export opportunities for British businesses. This is an important support for the Made in Ukraine programme launched by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy this year. This is the first agreement with such foreign organisation that will help Ukrainian producers enter new markets and promote the export of goods made in Ukraine," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
Made in Britain is an independent industry association for British manufacturers. Its members are more than 2,100 companies, 95% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. The organisation promotes British goods by licensing the official Made in Britain quality mark, which helps consumers and businesses identify British-made products.
"The shocks that have occurred in global supply chains have significantly increased the attention of customers to local products. Choosing high quality products made by manufacturers you can rely on has become a core business idea in the UK and across Europe. We are delighted to be working with the Made in Ukraine team to help ensure that shoppers and consumers can buy quality products," said John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain.
"I am delighted to meet with Ms Yuliia Svyrydenko and support the Made in Ukraine initiative. We understand the importance of manufacturing for the country's economy, its citizens, and for the resilience of critical national infrastructure. We see this through the example of the UK, through our international trade and participation in supply chains around the world. We look forward to developing ties between Ukrainian and British businesses next year," added George Middleton, Made in Britain Advisor.
