  • Ukraine officially receives European Commission report under EU Enlargement Package

    On 8 November, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met in Kyiv with Katarina Mathernova, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.

    During the meeting, the European side handed over the European Commission’s report on Ukraine as part of the EU Enlargement Package, which includes a recommendation to start negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

    “In less than a year and a half, we have implemented a number of important structural reforms. At the same time, the Government has carried out a self-screening of national legislation. Our next step is to prepare the National Programme for the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the EU acquis by the end of the year,” said Denys Shmyhal.

    The Prime Minister thanked for the close and fruitful cooperation during the implementation of the necessary criteria. He stressed that today’s assessment was crucial in the context of determining Ukraine’s next steps on the path of European integration.
