Another 60,000 tonnes of agricultural products purchased under Grain from Ukraine: Mykola Solskyi following a meeting with representatives of World Food Programme

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with Deputy Country Director of the World Food Programme in Ukraine Marianne Ward.

In the framework of the ongoing dialogue on Grain from Ukraine, the parties discussed the current state and further prospects for implementation of the humanitarian food initiative.

During the meeting Marianne Ward informed that the World Food Programme had purchased another 60,000 tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The humanitarian grain will be loaded on two ships in the port of Chornomorsk and sent to Ethiopia. The first vessel, Amira Hana, is already awaiting entry inspection by the Joint Coordination Center (JCC).

Mykola Solskyi expressed gratitude to the partners for their comprehensive support of the Ukrainian initiative.

The parties agreed to further coordinate actions in providing humanitarian aid to the poorest countries in Africa and Asia to prevent famine.

As a reminder, Grain from Ukraine is a food initiative aimed at providing grain to countries on the verge of hunger. It is implemented in partnership with the World Food Programme. The amount of accumulated funds provided by international partners for the Grain from Ukraine initiative is about USD 200 million.
