Negotiations between Ukraine and Poland on agricultural exports have been going on for two days in Warsaw.
Yesterday, an inter-ministerial meeting was held with representatives of the two countries' respective agricultural associations. The negotiations were attended by Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Markiyan Dmytrasevych, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine. The Polish side was represented by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Czesław Siekierski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Michał Kołodziejczak, as well as representatives of Ukrainian and Polish agricultural associations.
During the meeting, Mykola Solskyi stressed the importance of holding negotiations in a broad format with the involvement of specialised associations, as well as finding solutions to resolve the situation with the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
"It is significant that we have started communicating in this format. We can listen and hear each other, the Ukrainian and Polish sides, and find common ground. No one knows the situation better than we do," Mykola Saltskyi pointed out at the beginning of the meeting.
The Ukrainian side presented to the Polish colleagues an analysis of its exports to Poland and other EU countries. It also presented changes in agricultural exports since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, including thanks to the work of the sea corridor. These figures debunk the negative information surrounding Ukrainian agricultural exports.
Negotiations between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland are in progress.
