An average subsidy for housing and communal services in October makes up UAH 539, while the benefit for payment makes up UAH 418.
Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Vitalii Muzychenko said during a topical briefing for media outlets.
“The Ministry of Social Policy is entering a new heating season according to the schedule. Benefits and subsidies for housing and communal services, regardless of the date of commencement of the heating services provision, have been accrued since October 15. We are now calculating these types of assistance for October. On average, the subsidy rate in Ukraine amounted to UAH 539 and benefits – UAH 418,” said Vitalii Muzychenko.
According to the Deputy Minister, the warm weather in Ukraine will allow for beneficiaries savings: "Due to the fact that the accrual of payments are still being made starting October 15, and the heating services provision commenced later, people will have a chance to save up to UAH 200 this month."
Vitalii Muzychenko stressed that since October 1, the monetization of benefits had started in Ukraine: people receive compensation in ready money. Given the subsidy monetization mechanism that began in early 2019, Ukrainians will have more incentives to consume resources more efficiently and to save more money – “as they can use these funds at their disposal”.
“The draft budget for 2020 stipulates for about UAH 47 billion allocation to the subsidy program. This amount will be sufficient to satisfy the needs in state assistance to pay for housing and communal services provision,” summed up Vitalii Muzychenko.
