    In two years, a bridge in Zaporizhia should be put in operation, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk said during a working meeting in the city.

    “They have been incapable of building this bridge for 15 years. What a mess! In the summer, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was here.

    After this trip, we have found UAH 30 million for project documentation, adjusted the project, passed the evaluation procedures. We already have UAH 1.2 billion to get started with the activities. Now we are actively preparing the tender documentation”, added Oleksiy Honcharuk.

    The PM tasked with completing one side of the bridge in 1-1.5 years.

    During a meeting, the parties focused on infrastructure projects planned in the region for the next year and the critical need to ensure road traffic safety.

    "We will have a new Ukravtodor leader soon. In synergy, we will look for financing to ensure reconstruction of a road network in the country. In order to ensure further maintenance of roads, we must adhere to basic safety conditions and restrict the movement of vehicles with excessive gross weight. It is time to stop the traffic of fully loaded trucks bypassing the weight stations, especially at night!

    Such a situation has become the norm in Zaporizhia region. This is an unacceptable load on the roads,” urged the Prime Minister.

    In the region, it was decided that the National Police Department and the Zaporizhia department of Ukrtransbezpeka (State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety) should check around the clock all trucks passing by roads.

    Instead of controlling the situation on the roads 24/7, the regional department of Ukrtransbezpeka organized outright sabotage - they refused to go to work at night. As a result, now all the fully loaded trucks transport cargo at night, thus destroying the roads.

    The Prime Minister commissioned the following:

    - to the head of the Main Department of the National Police in Zaporizhia region Mykola Lushpiienko to limit the movement of trucks along the roads that were not designed for heavy vehicles;

    - to acting Head of the Ukratransbezpeka Department in Zaporizhia region Yevhen Hnenny to establish contact with the National Police and ensure the functioning of the weight stations around the clock.

    Apart from that, at the meeting, the participants touched upon the need for clean-up operations in Molochny Liman (estuary of Molochna river) to prevent a potential environmental hazard in the region.
