
Ministry of Energy hosts meeting to discuss cooperation with Lithuania to help the Ukrainian energy sector
Deputy Ministers of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak and Oleksandr Pavlichenko met with Vice-Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Julius Pranevičius.
The parties discussed areas of cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, strengthening the energy security of both countries.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy briefed the Lithuanian side on the consequences of russian attacks on energy facilities and the measures taken to restore them, as well as the current needs of the Ukrainian energy sector, in particular, equipment for repairs and increasing the capacity of distributed generation.
Julius Pranevičius, in turn, commended how Ukraine manages to maintain the stability of the energy system in the face of constant russian attacks and stressed the Lithuanian side's interest in learning from the experience of Ukrainian energy specialists in countering threats.
The Ukrainian side thanked Lithuania for supporting the Ukrainian energy sector since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the context of Ukraine's and the Baltic States' integration into the European energy system ENTSO-E, cybersecurity and renewable energy development.
