74 veterans and their spouses have been recognized as winners of the sixth wave of applications for Veterans' Grants in 2025. They will receive UAH 37 million to start or develop their businesses. Since the launch of the veteran component of the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) grant program, more than 1,500 veterans and family members of combatants will receive grants. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.

“More than 1,500 veterans and their families have become winners of the veteran component of the Vlasna Sprava program since its launch. The state has invested about UAH 700 million in the development of veterans' businesses through grants. 56% of grantees under this program are combatants, and 44% are their spouses. One in three grantees uses the money to start up. Most often, entrepreneurs plan to develop businesses in the processing, wholesale and retail sectors. In doing so, they will create 3,000 new jobs," said Tetyana Berezhna.

The 74 winners of the sixth wave of grant applications in 2025 include 47 combatants and 27 family members of veterans. 57 winners will receive a grant of up to UAH 500,000, 11 - up to UAH 250,000, 6 - up to UAH 1,000,000.

The majority of grantees are from Lviv, Kyiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr regions and the city of Kyiv. The most popular areas in which grantees plan to develop their business are wholesale and retail trade, processing industry, and temporary accommodation and catering, and other services.

Under the terms of the program, combat veterans or people with war-related disabilities, their spouses, and spouses of fallen defenders can receive the following grants:

  • up to UAH 250,000, up to UAH 500,000 and up to UAH 1 million for a veteran, provided that one, two and four jobs are created, respectively;
  • up to UAH 250,000 and up to UAH 500,000 for the second spouse of a veteran/deceased defender, provided that one and two jobs are created, respectively.

To receive a grant of UAH 500,000 to UAH 1 million, a veteran must be registered as an individual entrepreneur for at least 12 months. In addition, such a grant is provided subject to co-financing with the recipient in the ratio of 70/30, i.e. the recipient must invest 30% of his/her own funds in his/her business, and 70% of the funds will be provided by the state in the form of a grant.

Grant applications are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. The program is administered by the State Employment Service.
