Online certification for mine action operators launched on Diia platform
The Ukrainian Government has introduced an online certification process for mine action operators through the Diia platform. Nearly all stages can now be completed remotely, starting from submitting a certification application to filing an appeal. The only offline component remains the on-site inspection. Dedicated online portals for operators and certification bodies enable quick document exchange and communication. Each stage has clear deadlines, with the minimum certification time starting at one month. Currently, 125 operators, with the majority being Ukrainian and only eight being foreign, are registered.
"Scaling up and accelerating demining is among the Government’s key priorities. Ukraine is currently one of the most heavily mined countries in the world," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this approach makes the process transparent and convenient, and most importantly, speeds up demining efforts.
"The faster operators can work, the sooner we can restore safety to frontline regions where people risk their lives daily due to russian mines," noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Head of Government expressed gratitude to international partners for their support in creating this service, including the EGAP Program implemented by the East Europe Foundation with support from Switzerland, as well as the Diia Support Project and the Mine Action Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine with funding from Sweden.
