On December 20, a French delegation led by former Prime Minister of France and Mayor of Le Havre Édouard Philippe visited one of the Points of Invincibility operated by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the capital.

In a mobile tent of Ukrainian rescuers, the delegation had a brief meeting with Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mary Hakobyan, who told the guests about measures taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensure law and order and provide assistance to people during the winter period.

Mary Hakobyan expressed gratitude to the Government of France and personally to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins, who also took part in the meeting, for fruitful cooperation and constant assistance provided to MIA agencies since the first days of the full-scale armed aggression.

“In the conditions of constant shelling of critical infrastructure facilities by the enemy, it is necessary not only to equip additional heating points for the population, but also to ensure public safety, protection of critical infrastructure facilities, regulate traffic due to shutdown of traffic lights, which means an additional burden on the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” said Mary Hakobyan.

Today, there are 5,500 Points of Invincibility in the country, of which more than 1,000 are operated by the SES, and about 763,000 people have been provided with assistance. During the visit to one of these points, foreign guests were acquainted with the peculiarities of its work and the “passport” of the point, containing the minimum list of equipment required for its functioning.

Given the need for deployment of additional 1,500 Points of Invincibility, the head of the French delegation assured of the readiness of territorial communities of France to provide assistance for their arrangement.
