The State Budget of Ukraine received grant funds in the amount of USD 2 billion from the Trust Fund of the World Bank.
This is the second tranche of the grant of USD 4.5 billion. The funds were provided by the United States of America through the Trust Fund of the World Bank as part of the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance in Ukraine Project (PEACE).
The involved grant funding will be aimed at ensuring pension payments, salaries of civil defense workers and paying for medical services under the medical guarantee program, etc.
“From the first days of the illegal russian invasion of Ukraine, the United States has supported us in all the possible ways, including financial assistance for the State Budget in the form of the grants. Such assistance is extremely important, as it is not only helps to preserve an opportunity to execute priority social payments in full and in a timely manner, but also allows to not increase the further debt burden on the state budget,” said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhii Marchenko.
In total, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, Ukraine received USD 12 billion in grants from the US. Thus, the US is the largest donor of direct budget assistance among all partner countries in 2022.
